In Acts 8 we find the story of an Ethiopian official who, after being told the Gospel of Jesus, gave himself to Jesus. Coming across some water soon after, the Ethiopian official asks, what can stand in the way of my being baptized? The answer was, nothing. So he was baptized then and there.

Why Be Baptized?

In the Bible, baptism is the natural and first response of a new believer coming to Christ. In fact, the Great Commission was not just to make disciples of all nations, but also to baptize them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Thus, the message of the Apostles was to repent and be baptized as an evidence of the new life we have received in Christ.

Baptism is a basic first step in discipleship. Yet, for a variety of reasons, many followers of Jesus today have never been baptized. Maybe that includes you. If you have an interest in knowing more about being baptized, contact the office or attend a baptism meeting!
